School Worship
Bishop Kevin Jones was elected at the 2021 Synod Assembly to a six year term as the Bishop of the Northeastern Iowa Synod. This week during worship, the Bishop and the 6th grade class shared the message about ways we can share and show God’s love. God calls us to love one another and when asked, “what is love”, the students’ responses included being kind, caring for and helping others, and being nice. The Bishop described love as an action as well as an emotion and he had the kids describe how Jesus showed his love for us: “Jesus died on the cross for us.” “He teaches us.” “He rose from the dead to free us from our sins”. He reminded us that nothing separates us from God’s love and nothing should stop us from sharing our Christian love for one another.
School Enrollment
Enrollment for 2023-24 is underway and it warms my heart to see K-6th grade enrollment is up with so many of our families continuing to enhance their children’s education here at St. Paul’s. Based on the enrolled number of students the School Board and Finance Committee are recommending two sections of Kindergarten for next year. The staff will work together to develop a plan to include staffing, equipping the room, establishing two sections while building opportunities for collaboration between the two classrooms. We will keep our families informed as processes develop.
As enrollment continues we still have openings in our 1st-6th grade classrooms and we have additional spaces in preschool too. Please share the good news about our strong preschool through 6th grade program and all the amenities that St. Paul’s provides our school families.
