Just a quick reminder that one of our big School Fund fundraiser opportunities is next Wednesday, Oct. 6. Please help your child collect donations. The purpose of the St. Paul’s Lutheran School Fund is to raise funds to ensure the school’s mission is fulfilled. Your gift to the School Fund provides tuition assistance, technology, textbooks and all those things needed for our children’s education. This year’s goal is to match or exceed the $5000 we had donated last year. Come on out and walk with our children, from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Grandparents Day Update
Oct. 8 is Grandparents Day at St. Paul’s School and the 1 p.m. Worship Service will be a Facebook Live Event on our School Facebook page. Once the grandchildren meet up with their Grandparents around 12:45 p.m. outside the main entrance under the flagpole, they will proceed through the main school entrance to Room 121 or through the canopy entrance into the Sanctuary for our 1 p.m. worship service. Following worship, the students will be giving school tours, stop by the Chapel for a family picture, take their Grandparent for a cookie break and complete a family Activity, and then of course visit the PTO Book Fair. Children may go home with grandparents following the event, but we do ask ALL Grandparents to inform the teacher before they leave the building. We also highly recommend masking for outside visitors, especially for the church service and also invite you to have your child wear a mask that afternoon. Reminder that there will be no Worship on Thursday, Oct. 7.
PTO Book Fair
The annual book fair will be held Friday, Oct. 8. Books will be for sale during Grandparents Day from 1-4 p.m. and during the evening PTO Fall Festival from 5-7 p.m. We could use some extra volunteers to help straighten books and help bag up books during the sale. Please sign up on this google doc.
Thrivent Choice® provides a platform for members to have a financial impact on the causes and nonprofits they care about. Eligible members can direct their Choice Dollars® to St. Paul’s Lutheran School. We use these funds to offset school lunches, Capstone Meals, the Annual Fun Walk and many other events. Scan the barcode to learn more. If you are eligible and have questions about how to designate the funds to us or need help with completing the application, please contact the school office.
Family STEM Opportunities
Students at St. Paul’s Lutheran School have a new opportunity this year! Each month, there is a new STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) Family Challenge. Interested students inform Mrs. Letsche that they would like to participate that month after Mrs. Letsche explains that month’s challenge. These challenges are completed at home by the students and members of their family. Any supplies required for the project are sent home with the students. Past challenges include building a free-standing 10 balloon tower and designing a mini putt-putt hole. Pictures of the completed projects are displayed in the Spanish/TAG room. Be on the lookout for the October challenge! Contact Mrs. Letsche at firstname.lastname@example.org.
